checking back a hello

Good morning everyone.

Here I am up slightly later than the usual saturday. The only difference is, im at home, im using the computer, i have coffee beside me, and there is no disgusting indented morningfood. It suddenly occurred to me that this would be what a 8-5 soldier would experience daily. Not that i think i’ll ever complain should be NSF duty suddenly magically transforms into one so slakay.

Today is family day at my camp where there will be our vocation displays for the friends and families of people like me, the ants of the infantry. Its cool to see men in green at work.

I meant to encourage the idea of being small, insignificant and dispensable. Forgive me if the shot was weak.

Sadly, i will be going alone. There is a chance no one will ever know what its like in here. SADLY. Apathy.

Anyway, im so looking forward to the weekend(sunday), which is the day to welcome the 52 new members to the choir. Although its hardly the case where every single soul who signed up turns up, im still pretty excited because some good friends decided to give it a shot.

So pray, pray that these uncomfortable sensations within my facial orifices would subside soon!

vday for fools

Its not unusual to see the big V issue gracing most magazine covers, be it social/gossip/tabloid/local, its there.

“For you confused child, V for valentine’s day lah.”

It is however, funny that 3 in 5 magazines contained material on surviving that special day without that special date instead of the usual wineanddine review, or interesting places to go.

I suppose those out there fishing for last minute tips on planning the perfect celebration would be disapointed? Don’t be. I guess a bad date is better than no date.

As for the rest of us, who can better understand the disappointment of the not so lucky ones, huddling up together to stay warm in this occasion so very chilly, and stinging with emptyness, then ourselves, the single people.

Point, stick together! Buy yourselves chocolates; roses! It ain’t that bad!

I must admit again that being in camp, away from the outside world does help to bury the need to feel sad on this day, a day so heavily played up by the media.

Happy Valentine’s Day then, u fools.

 , Josh
